There are many ways that businesses can benefit when they understand the tax code. One of the more popular approaches is to take advantage of tax incentives related to the purchase of equipment. Section 179 allows businesses to deduct the cost of equipment depreciation in the year it's placed into service.
While this is not intended as tax advice, we want to share some of the possible tax incentives you can enjoy based on the vehicle you choose. There are three separate classifications, most of which are derived from the vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating. They include: up to 100% of the purchase prices (179 Expensing), up to 100% of the purchase price (Partial 179 Expensing and Bonus Depreciation), and up to $20,000.
