MARLEY'S MUTTS DOG RESCUE
Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of Kern County's shelter animals. With shelters overcrowded, euthanasia is often the only solution the county has to control the population. Lost and abandoned dogs need all of us to save them from death. While we don't take strays off of the street, we do offer resources for training, rehoming and networking.
ALL SEATED IN A BARN
We are an equine rescue whose large ambitions include rescuing horses and donkeys from the feed lots who would otherwise be shipped across the border to be slaughtered for human consumption. We provide them with medical attention and most importantly, find them them the loving homes they deserve.
LEAGUE OF DREAMS
The League of Dreams is an adaptive sports league giving every child a chance to play by providing sports training, team camaraderie and competitive sporting opportunities to athletes ages 5 to 22 with physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities.
WOUNDED HEROES FUND
The Wounded Heroes Fund is a service organization for those veterans affected by the war on terror in an effort to provide them with support and appreciation they need in their return to civilian life
INDEPENDENCE THROUGH GRACE
At GRACE, we believe every person is a child of GOD who deserves to be valued, accepted and respected. Adults who participate in our faith-based enrichment program are offered a variety of activities that suit their personal interests. Session activities are designed to enhance social skills, spiritual depth and understanding, physical mobility and creative talents. Our staff works to discover each person's strengths, with the ultimate goal of assisting our participants in reaching their maximum potential while they gain confidence in their abilities.
THE MISSION AT KERN COUNTY
The Mission at Kern County is the community's largest provider of emergency shelter services. Providing comprehensive care to those experiencing homelessness. We serve three meals every day, offer a safe place to sleep, and provide access to hygienic services including showers and medical care.
Bakersfield Marathon
In addition to giving local runners an opportunity to run a Boston-qualifying marathon in their own backyard, we are excited to welcome runners from across the U.S. and around the world. The Bakersfield Marathon has a race for everyone!
We have a scenic Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and, a 6K race through Downtown Bakersfield! Each year, proceeds from the Bakersfield Marathon benefit a local organization and the marathon also brings in revenue to the Bakersfield community.
THE BAKERSFIELD BREAKFAST ROTARY
The Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary is a leadership organization of local professional and civic leaders. We meet regularly for friendship and through that get things done in our community. Through out the year, we host several events that help fund our giving back to the Bakersfield Community.
