Best bang for your buck!

In 1993 if you bought a subcompact you bought a Ford Festiva or a Geo Metro and you were miserable. 30 years ago a "sub-comp" meant you enjoyed being punished on your drive into work every day. Fast forward to 2023 and while the Mazda 2 is gone (lord those were fun cars) the Kia Rio is the best small car on the market today. 120 hp in a 2700lb sedan is ALOT more fun than you think it would be, and when you are returning 40+ mpg while cruising down the interstate w/ the A/C on, it all just goes to show how fantastic this little car is. I generally hate CVT transmissions from being plopped in nissan rental cars, but the Rios transmission is a pure joy. The only downside is no manual offering here. Fit and finish is way nicer than youd expect from a $17k new vehicle. The same goes for the infotainment system, and overall driving characteristics of the car. The 2018-23 Rio's have also not been plagued by Kia's general awfulness and you dont have to worry about your motor locking up in these bad boys. If you can find one at the Kia dealer, and you are looking for a cheap new car, these are the one to get..… - 5.0
The Anti=SUV

My wife and I traded our 2004 Scion XA for this Rio. So far, it has been an excellent car., We went on a trip to Canada in the spring and it drove nicely, handled well, and survived the traffic around Toronto. We got over 48 MPG on that trip, and still get 32-35 as a daily driver. The fit and finish is excellent. Everything fits! The wireless android auto makes google maps very easy to use. The car accelerates well, and has no trouble merging onto highway, even with CVT. We have the 4 door sedan. The trunk and fold down seats can handle lots of cargo. The cruise control, heater and A/C all work as advertised. Get one of these while you can! 2023 may be the last year, as Hyundai will not continue the Rio's twin, (Accent) for 2023.… - 5.0
Amazing little car
By Craig R | on Monday, September 26, 2022
I've had my 22 Rio Hatchback (with Tech package) for about 4 months and am extremely happy with it. Granted we're not talking luxury vehicle here- it's basic transportation with outstanding gas mileage. I have found the pickup to be as good as my previous car ('19 Kia Sportage); very comfortable on longer drives; handles just fine. I am getting an overall 44mpg. The only negative for me is that it sits REALLY low- you're not going to see over ANYTHING in front of you. If you're looking at this car, you REALLY want to go with the tech package. Without it, the car's just too barebones. The tech pkg adds disc brakes all around, LED headlights, pushbutton start, NICE alloy wheels, Sirius XM radio, automated climate control, nicer trim, and a TON of safety features such as lanekeep assist, forward collision warning, emergency braking, and more.…
