Joe Perez has been part of the Motor City Buick GMC team in Bakersfield for over 33 years. He first joined the dealership in 1992, starting part-time at just 17 years old in the Get Ready department. Over the years, he worked his way through roles including Parts Driver and Shipping and Receiving, eventually becoming a GM Parts Consultant—his current role today.
In his position, Joe plays an essential role in the GM Parts Department, helping customers with everything from recall parts and genuine GM accessories to OEM tire replacements. Known for his product knowledge and friendly service, Joe makes it a priority to keep each customer’s vehicle in excellent condition.
When asked why he’s stayed at Motor City for more than three decades, Joe credits the company’s culture. He says the team is caring, supportive, and dedicated to helping the Bakersfield community. Joe himself is a perfect example of that community spirit—outside of work, he coaches high school baseball and helps guide young athletes on and off the field.
Joe grew up in Arvin and graduated from Arvin High School. Motor City has been his only employer since he entered the workforce. When he’s not helping customers in the parts department, he enjoys traveling with his wife, attending Dodger games, and spending time with his team on the baseball field.
